Who writes these guides

A byline is one of the few things on a page a reader can check, so we would rather have none than invent one. Every guide states which of the two it has.

No named authors yet

Our 1,000 guides are produced with substantial automation against a structured brief for each topic, then put through the checks described on our editorial standards page. The organisation is the author, and that is what the byline says.

0 of those 1,000guides have been read by a named subject-matter reviewer. We are not going to attach a person’s name to work they did not do to improve how the page looks to a search engine — a byline you cannot corroborate anywhere off this site is worth less than an honest one.

When a school operations specialist, bursar, or exams officer writes or reviews for us, they will appear here with their standing, what they worked on, and a profile you can check elsewhere. Guides they touched will carry their name.
