Parent portal

Not in practice. A guardian record belongs to exactly one student, and the portal login is created against that record. Because a user email must be unique, the second child’s guardian record cannot be given a login on the same address — admissions enrolment records it as "Guardian record created without portal (email already used)" and the manual invite returns "Email is already used by another portal account". There is no screen that attaches an existing parent login to a second student, so a family with two children needs two guardian records on two different email addresses.

The dashboard lists children whose active guardian record points at the signed-in account. An empty dashboard almost always means the guardian record exists but has no portal login attached, or the login belongs to a different guardian record. Open the guardian at /parents and check whether a portal user is shown; if not, use the portal invite on that record.

A working SMTP configuration and a real email address on the portal account. The link is valid for fifteen minutes and only parent and student accounts are eligible. If SMTP is unconfigured no link is ever delivered, and password sign-in is the only route.

Almost everything is read-only: attendance, grades, published report cards, timetable, syllabus and exam schedules. The exceptions are paying fees online where the gateway is enabled, applying for student leave, and messaging staff. A parent cannot edit the student record, mark attendance, or dispute a mark from the portal.
